1.) Diegetic sound is sound
which exists only within the ‘Story World’. It can be something like the bell
in a clock tower or the engine in a car. It comes into the pre-production,
production and post production stage. Correct but mention diegesis, dialogue, Sound
effects(referred to but not explicitly mentioned) and ambient.
2.) Non-Diegetic sound is
sound which only the audience can hear but characters within the story world
cannot. Examples of this are out of character audio, or music. These sounds are
edited in within the post production stage. Correct but needs to mention
narrative
3.) Denotation is what
something is, in its literal sense. Connotation is the hidden meaning behind
something, what it otherwise represents. Correct
4.) Laura Mulvey (Also known
as a silly feminist) spoke about the male gaze referring to the way men look
upon women in some media. A common referral to this is women being treated as
sex objects for males. Correct but needs to mention how it has effected female portrayal in
todays media.
